Schneider is a premier provider of transportation and logistics services headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The company offers a broad portfolio including Truckload, Intermodal, Brokerage, Warehousing, and Supply Chain Management solutions.

The IT Solution Developer Lead applies system solutions to business problems through the design and development of automated systems. This is an expert-level technical leadership role, responsible for delivering large-scale, complex applications with a high degree of autonomy while acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

This role sits at the intersection of enterprise applications (Oracle Fusion) and custom-built solutions, serving as a bridge between external vendors and internal platforms. It is highly technical, with a strong focus on backend development (Spring Boot) and modern architecture, while also requiring a solid understanding of HR and Finance processes.

Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Solution Delivery

Lead large-scale application development initiatives using Schneider’s Agile methodology across all phases
Design, code, unit test, system test, performance test, debug, implement, document, and support solutions
Deliver enhancements to existing systems and integrate third-party applications

Architecture & Engineering Excellence

Collaborate with Architects to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture roadmap
Apply design patterns and engineering best practices (performance, scalability, maintainability)
Develop and document solution designs ensuring flexibility, reuse, reliability, and security
Ensure adherence to development standards and architectural governance

Agile Execution

Lead delivery of user stories within committed timelines
Provide feedback on feature definition and backlog prioritization
Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies

Problem Solving & Support

Lead resolution of deployment, warranty, and post-warranty issues
Troubleshoot complex defects and drive sustainable solutions
Analyze multiple solution paths and recommend optimal approaches

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Work cross-functionally with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors
Operate across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Communicate effectively with mid-management and influence technical outcomes

Technical Leadership

Lead large application design efforts and influence outcomes
Mentor and coach junior developers; provide technical guidance
Contribute to reusable components and review other developers’ code

Additional Responsibilities

Research and recommend new technologies or solutions
Adapt to evolving business needs and responsibilities
Maintain alignment with company values and operational standards

Databases: Azure SQL, MongoDB, Oracle (legacy & integrations)

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
+7 years of experience in software development
+2 years of experience in a technical leadership role
Strong full-stack experience with Java & JavaScript
Deep knowledge of system design, development patterns, and SDLC
Experience with integration methodologies and enterprise systems
Experience with Oracle Fusion (HCM and/or Finance)
