Hospitality Technology Specialist I Kasa
[Hospitality Programs] • [Remote]

About the team
Kasa's Hospitality Programs team owns the systems, vendors, and infrastructure that power day-to-day property operations across our portfolio. We keep properties connected, secure, and running — from Wi-Fi networks and access control to IoT devices and backend platforms.
We're a small team with a big scope. We move fast, build our own tooling, and rely on each other to own our verticals end-to-end.

About the role
You'll be an executioner for Kasa's Wi-Fi infrastructure and access control programs. That means keeping the systems running, managing our Ubiquiti environment, and helping to build our tools to makes our operations smarter over time.
You're equally comfortable troubleshooting a network issue and then leveraging AI to build an alert to address things proactively in the future This is a hands-on, build-things role.
You'll use AI tools like Cursor and Claude to automate alerting, and manage backend systems — not because we handed you a workflow, but because you figured out the better way to do it.
You read API docs for fun. You don't wait for updates.
You enjoy being organized and delivering updates; saying “no update” is an update worth sharing.

What you'll own

Wi-Fi infrastructureWi-Fi infrastructure — Ubiquiti backend, site configs, firmware, monitoring
Lock install programLock install program — Multi-property rollouts, vendor RFP process, install coordination, and post-install supportHospitality Technology Specialist II1
Alerting systemsAlerting systems — AI-built and maintained alerts, anomaly detection, response flows
Data & API toolingData & API tooling — Backend integrations, automation scripts, internal tooling
Day-to-day responsibilities
Manage and maintain the Ubiquiti UniFi environment across all active properties, including site configs, VLAN management, firmware updates, and controller health
Build and maintain AI-assisted alerting using tools like Cursor and Claude, iterating on logic as the portfolio evolves
Project manage lock installs end-to-end: scheduling, coordinating vendors and field teams, tracking punch lists, and driving to full resolution
Build and maintain API integrations that connect property tech systems, pulling data and surfacing operational insights
Proactively monitor network performance, investigate anomalies, and resolve issues before they escalate to guests or field teams
Provide technical support and triage for connectivity and access control ssues across the portfolio
Create documentation, and SOPs that reduce reliance on tribal knowledge

What you bring

2- 4 years in a technical operations, IT, or hospitality technology role
Hands-on experience with Ubiquiti UniFi — you know what you're looking at in the controller and can build processes to create our own in-house management system
Comfort reading and working with API documentation; you can figure out a new integration on your own
Experience managing hardware deployments or technology rollouts across multiple locations
Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or similar scripting for automation and tooling
Strong project management instincts — you track everything, follow up relentlessly, and don't consider something done until it's fully resolved
Clear written communication in English
Based in Mexico

Nice to have

Prior work with smart lock systems Schlage, Salto, Dormakaba, Yale, or similar)
Experience with creating alerting frameworks (n8n, slack, webhook, custom webhooks)
Familiarity with Supabase, or similar lightweight backend platforms
Traits that thrive here
You love the hardware side. Sharing what a switch is, face-time to troubleshoot, wiring a lock — you find that stuff satisfying, not annoying.
You use AI as a multiplier. Cursor, Claude, whatever gets the job done faster.
You're already in the habit of reaching for these tools, not experimenting with them.
API docs don't scare you. You read them carefully, test methodically, and figure things out. You don't need someone to hand you the answer.
No update is an update. You follow up. You don't let things sit. You keep stakeholders informed and projects moving even when nothing is happening.
You root-cause, not patch. When something breaks, you trace it to the actual source and make sure the full fix lands — not just the symptom.
You like learning new software. New tool, new platform, new vendor system — you're curious, not reluctant.

In your first year, you will

Take full ownership of the Ubiquiti environment with minimal oversight
Ship at least 6 end-to-end lock install project across multiple properties
Build and maintain alerting that meaningfully reduces reactive escalations
Create at least one API integration that saves the team recurring manual work
Become the go-to contact for Wi-Fi and access control across the org
